In this session, Caleb, Damon, and Jinisha our moderator, will discuss CSAM, FIs' responsibilities, and the role of cryptocurrency in CSAM production, distribution, and payment facilitation.

Jinisha B. is an independent crypto compliance consultant, a digital nomad, and an advocate of decentralization. Currently, she offers consultation to Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) operating across multiple jurisdictions. She marries her insights from her previous compliance roles in traditional finance with her experiences in blockchain investigations. Currently, she specializes in investigating well-known as well as emerging typologies in crypto fraud schemes and scams.

When not at work, she works with multiple anti-human trafficking initiatives to help provide actionable insights and training to private and public sectors. Jinisha holds a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist designation (CAMS), a Chainalysis Reactor Certification (CRC), and a Chainalysis Ethereum Investigations Certification (CEIC).

Caleb Carroll joined Chainalysis as a Training Specialist at the end of 2022. Prior to joining the team, he was in law enforcement in South Carolina for fourteen years, most of which was with the Anderson County (SC) Sheriff's Office.

The last period of his law enforcement career, he was a Detective who investigated all forms of violence against children and women, specializing particularly on Internet Crimes Against Children. He was on the South Carolina Attorney General's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and was a member of the Foothills Human Trafficking Task Force.

In 2019, Caleb moved to the Philippines with International Justice Mission, where he worked directly with the Philippine government to counter the sex trafficking of children to produce new child sexual abuse material shared online.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science in Global Technology and Development (Applied International Development) from Arizona State University.

Damon is a Senior Training Specialist with Chainalysis; the blockchain data platform. Prior to joining Chainalysis, Damon served as a 2nd grade Detective with the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

During his 21 years of service, Damon was an original member of the first Organized Crime Control Bureau’s Vice Major Case Unit / Human Trafficking Task Force. Damon was the lead detective for all child sexual abuse material (CSAM) / internet traveler cases for over 12 years and a member of the ICAC task force.

During his last four years of service, Damon worked as a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Task Force officer in the NYPD’s Criminal Enterprise Investigative Section. He continued investigating child exploitation crimes, bulk cash smuggling cases out of NYC’s airports, and assisting in numerous drug trafficking and money laundering investigations within his unit.

Damon received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Master’s Degree in Criminology & Deviance from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Additionally, Damon was an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice from January 2015 through December 2021 and taught over 40 criminology related classes to over 1000 students.
